The thing I love most about music festivals is that they bring so many different kinds of people together. Everyone is there for one reason, to enjoy the music. This summer was my second time attending Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in Manchester, Tennessee and I just cannot get enough. Nothing beats the music, people, and all around vibes of this music festival.
This summer the line-up was incredible; it featured artists like Billy Joel, Mumford & Sons, DeadMau5, Florence and the Machine, Flume, Odesza, SBTRKT, and Hozier. Among the artist who performed, my all time favorite was Florence and the Machine. Never in my life have I ever seen a more energetic, grateful, happy-go-lucky performer before this performance. Through the glory of her set, I made my way just a few rows back from the general admission gates. I was having the time of my life when all of a sudden I was lifted onto my friends shoulders, I could see straight to the stage and I felt all of the crowds amazing energy right behind my back. Then before I knew it, I look ahead to the stage and there I am on the big screen, in front of 100,00 people at my favorite artist. It was such a great feeling, I felt so alive and I couldn’t even believe what just happened.
This was the absolute best part of my Bonnaroo experience. However, I did have some other pretty great moments as well. For one, at Flume’s set I was in the second row. The music was so loud, the lights so bright; I loved every minute of his performance. Another performance that lived up to reputation was MØ. My best friend and I were front row and even got to touch MØ herself. Her set had so much energy and excitement, I can only hope to experience her perform again someday.
Bonnaroo this year was unlike anything else. I met so many new people and even got to reconnect with some old friends. I saw some of my all-time favorite artist and got to discover some new bands that I absolutely love. I will never forget my time of the farm and I cannot wait to do it all again next year. See you in 2016, Bonnaroo.
