On October 30, South Africa-born, London-based producer Okzharp is dropping Dumela 113 on Hyperdub. The tracks feature the vocals of artist and choreographer Manthe Ribane, who runs a Johannesburg studio called Studio113, has toured as a dancer with Die Antwoord, and has been involved with films such as Ghost Diamond, a collabo between Okzharp and director/photographer Chris Saunders. You can watch them doing their thang below in the video for “Dear Ribane.”
Dumela 113 was written over the course of the film shoot, with lyrics in English and in Tshwana. It was later recorded overnight in an ex-marshmallow factory. The End. Because that’s amazing.
