Durante will inaugurate a new Berlin-based techno label, Kynant.
The minds behind Kynant have their roots in the UK but are currently based in Berlin. The only other thing we know about the new label is that they plan to “explore and invert rhythm in techno.”
Italian techno mainstay Max Durante has been tapped for the Kynant’s first release. Durante is a lynchpin within Italy’s underground dance scene having been active for almost three decades. Since the mid-’80s, the enduring DJ has been spinning and producing a steel-edged blend of techno, industrial, electro and acid.
Durante released his first record in four years through Adam X’s Sonic Groove imprint back in May. For Kynant, he has prepared three dark and rugged original cuts. The Black Light EP also features a remix from compatriot Donato Dozzy. The EP was mastered by Dozzy’s Voices From The Lake partner Neel.
The Black Light EP will be released via Kynant on November 6. Watch the video for Donato Dozzy’s remix below. [via RA]
