D’Angelo was scheduled to appear for a Prince tribute during tonight’s BET Awards in Los Angeles, but was nowhere to be found during the last tribute performance, where Sheila E whipped through a medley of the Purple One’s cuts. Questlove alluded to the singer’s absence in a tweet to a fan while the award ceremony was ongoing; see that below. Pitchfork has reached out to to representatives for D’Angelo for comment.
